Set Up Experiences with Preferred Time Requests & Inquiry Function

Not every experience needs fixed times. For many offers – like private services, spa treatments, or culinary specials – it makes more sense to let guests request a preferred time instead.

In this article, we’ll guide you step by step on how to make such experiences available on request in the Giggle CMS.


✅ 1. When is the inquiry function the right choice?

Perfect for all experiences that don't require fixed events or dates, such as:

  • Breakfast or dinner served in-room

  • Private spa treatments (e.g. massages, beauty services)

  • Exclusive one-on-one experiences without a fixed schedule

  • Add-ons requiring personalized scheduling

💡 Goal: Let guests request their preferred time – e.g. a "cozy breakfast" on Saturday at 2:00 PM.


⚙️ 2. Set up an experience with inquiry function

Step 1: Open the experience

  • Log in to your Giggle CMS

  • Open an existing experience or create a new one

Step 2: Set availability instead of events

  • Scroll to the section “When does the experience take place”

  • Select Availabilities (instead of events)

  • Choose which days and time blocks the experience is available:

    • Weekdays: Monday to Sunday

    • Time slots: Morning, Forenoon, Afternoon, Evening

    • Or enable Entire Day with a simple switch

🎯 These options will later appear in the booking calendar for guests.

Step 3: Activate inquiry mode

  • Scroll to “Is this experience bookable”

  • Activate the switch: Yes

  • Add one or more recipient email addresses (e.g. your spa or front desk)

  • Create at least one ticket (e.g. “Full Body Massage 50 min”, “Private Sunset Dinner”)

🔧 Optional settings

Customize your experience further with the following features:

  • Set minimum/maximum participants
    Limit bookings for exclusive or space-limited experiences

  • Select payment method
    Add payment info or instructions for the guest

  • Add a custom email message
    This message will appear in the automatic inquiry confirmation email

  • Enable phone reservations
    Let guests call instead of booking online

  • Use custom fields

✏️ 3. Add a preferred time field (custom field)

For custom experiences, it helps to ask for a preferred time directly in the form.

Here’s how to add it:

  1. Go to Settings > Booking form

  2. Create a new custom field – e.g. "Preferred time"

  3. Go back to your experience

  4. Under “Is this experience bookable”, click Open optional settings

  5. In “Custom fields booking form”, select your new field

  6. If needed, set the field as mandatory

💾 4. Save the experience

Once everything is set:

  • Click Done in the pop-up

  • Then click Save to update the experience

🎉 Guests will now see a “Request” button and can select a preferred date & time directly from the calendar.
