How can I ensure that only in-house guests can book an experience?

Your experiences are exclusively for your hotel guests? In this article, we’ll show you some simple tips and tricks to make sure only your in-house guests are able to book.

🧭 First things first: External bookings are rare

As a rule, external guests usually don’t book experiences that are clearly intended for hotel guests. In fact, if you want to attract external guests, you’ll need to communicate this proactively – for example, through the experience title, the description, or by offering public tickets.

However, if you want to be 100% sure that an experience is only bookable for your in-house guests, you can take the following steps:

✅ Our recommendations for “In-House Guests Only”

🏷️ 1. Clear labeling in ticket and description

  • Ticket description:
    Use wording like:
“Exclusive to our hotel guests, includes…”
    or
“Price per person – available only to in-house guests.”
  • Experience description:
Add a clear note such as:
“This experience is available exclusively for hotel guests.”

This immediately lets your guests know who the offer is intended for.

📝 2. Customize your booking form

  • Go to Settings > Booking Form.

  • Add a general or custom field, such as “Room Number” or “Booking Reference”.

  • Set the field to required – either for all experiences or specifically for selected ones using custom fields.

This way, you don’t need to manually check every booking, but you’ll get a clear indication during the booking process whether the person is a legitimate guest.

✅ Summary

  • Use clear wording in your title, description, and ticket text.

  • Add a required field (e.g. room number) to your booking form.

  • That way, you ensure your offers are targeted and exclusively bookable by in-house guests.

ℹ️ Note on informational-only experiences

If you’ve created experiences that are not bookable, but rather purely informative (like weather info, menus, etc.) and should only be visible on-site, check out this article:
