How can I cancel a booking?

In this article, you'll learn how to cancel bookings in the Giggle CMS – whether it's a single guest canceling or an entire experience that needs to be called off.

  1. Option 1: A guest can´t attend
  2. Option 2: The experience is canceled

🔁 Option 1: A guest can’t attend

If a guest can no longer participate, you have two cancellation options:

🧑‍💻 1.1 Guest cancels independently

Guests can cancel their booking themselves up until the registration deadline – using the link in their confirmation email.
✅ The spot is automatically freed up and available again for others.

🖥️ 1.2 Cancellation via the CMS

You can manually cancel bookings anytime in the CMS under “Inquiries & Bookings”:

  1. Open the relevant booking

  2. In the left-hand detail panel, click the status dropdown

  3. Select “Cancel booking”

  4. Optional: Add a personal message (e.g. for short-notice cancellations)

💡 If the booking was previously confirmed or still pending, and the email switch is enabled, the guest will automatically receive a cancellation email. The freed-up spot becomes immediately available again.

🚫 Option 2: The experience is canceled

If an entire experience must be canceled, there are also two options:

📅 2.1 Cancel all bookings for an event

  1. Go to the Experience overview in the CMS

  2. Select the event using the checkbox

  3. Click “Cancel all bookings” via the bulk actions bar

  4. Optional: Add a personal message for all affected guests

💡 If the bookings were previously confirmed or pending and the email switch is active, guests will automatically receive a cancellation notification.


⚙️ 2.2 Automatic cancellation if minimum participants not met

If an experience requires a minimum number of participants and that number isn’t reached by the registration deadline, you can activate automated cancellations:

  1. Go to Settings > Advanced Settings

  2. Enable the second switch:
    “Automatically cancel bookings if minimum number is not reached”

The system will automatically cancel all open registrations after the deadline if the minimum isn’t met.
