Image too large? Here’s how to compress it for upload

In this article, you'll learn what to do if your images can't be uploaded to the CMS – and how to easily optimize them for web use.

❗ Maximum file size allowed

The maximum image size allowed for uploads in the Giggle CMS is 6 MB per image. If your file is larger, you’ll receive an upload error.

🧩 Common reason: Print files with 300 dpi

Many oversized images come from print projects and are set to 300 dpi – which is perfect for print, but much too large for web usage.

📌 Important:
Giggle is a digital platform, so images should be optimized for web (e.g. 72 dpi).
Large print files with high resolution often exceed the 6 MB limit.

What can you do?

👉 Ask your photographer for web-optimized versions of the images (72 dpi),
